Setbuild Project
BA(hons) Photography, Contemporary Practice. University for the Creative Arts, Rochester, UK
Challenge: In a small team choose a scene from a film of your choice and recreate it as still photograph in the studio.
Students must decipher the original scene and plan how to reconstruct it, gather all necessary materials and props, cast actors, construct and dress the set, light and shoot the scene.
I organised and ran this project for five years. This included briefing students on the task, running technical and safety workshops for lighting and camera technique, holding creative tutorials, managing and offering practical support during of studio production.
During the project student’s kept online production diaries, I developed a website to host these along with and archive of final images and behind the scenes videos created over the years the project ran.
